Dump Inserts

Dump inserts are the way to go for landscapers that use pickup trucks. Dump inserts are a simple solution. They are basically self contained systems that slide in and bolt inside your pickup bed. You simply hook a feed from your battery to the pump unit. Up/Down controller is usually tethered to a 9 to 20 foot rubber cord that can be used in the cab or out. Depending on the manufacturer, a bed kit may be power up/gravity down or power up and power down. The ability to power down a dump bed can be helpful if you have a lot of weight sitting on the end of the bed that you're not ready to dump off. Most of the better quality dump inserts use heavy gauge steel for the dump bed and heavy steel framing. Today dump inserts are made in powder coated steel, aluminum and even stainless steel. You can easily bolt on a cab protector, tarp kit offered from the manufacturer, or make your own add on sides to haul larger amounts of mulch or leaves. Almost all dump inserts include stake pockets to extend the height of your bed sides. Most manufacturers use a 45 or 47 degree bed dump angle. The taller 47 degree angle helps out, especially on un-level driveways where the ground to bed dump angle is less.

Truck Craft Dump Inserts

Truck Craft makes both aluminum and steel dump inserts in 6-1/2 and 8 foot lengths. They are among the best on the market. A reliable 12 volt electric Monarch pump runs the telescoping hydraulic cylinder. Heavy gauge steel beds resist denting. Aluminum frames are used on both steel and aluminum beds both to save weight and reduce maintenance. No grease bushings are used at all pivot points to eliminate maintenance. All beds are hydraulic up and gravity down. Truck Craft Dump insert options include: Cab protector, tarp kit, side boards. Most dealers will install the bed for you for a reasonable cost.

Dumper Dogg Dump Inserts

Buyers Equipment makes the Dumper Dogg Dump Insert. Available in both 6-1/2 and 8 foot powder coated steel and stainless steel beds, Dumper Dogg's are quality units that can hoist 6,000 lbs. Buyers built this unit with a heavy steel frame, quality hydraulics and several useful options. Add on a cab protector, roll tarp and bed side extensions. If you will use your dumper a lot and leave your truck outside, the stainless steel version may be worth every penny in on-going maintenance.

EZ Dumper Inserts

EZ Dumper is one of the older dump insert manufacturers. They offer 6 and 8 foot beds in steel and stainless steel. EZ Dumper builds heavy duty inserts with strong hydraulic systems from Monarch. Dump inserts use a power up/gravity down system. EZ Dumpers hoist 5,200 lbs. EZ Dumper sells an add on cab protector, tarp kit and side extensions. Dump beds have stake pockets to add more height to your bed.

Meyer Products Dump Inserts

The famous snow plow builder, Meyer, has a new dump bed insert out. Like many of the other manufacturers, Meyer makes 6-1/2 and 8 foot beds in steel and stainless steel. All inserts feature Monarch pumps for reliable hydraulic power. 6-1/2 foot units ca hoist 4,000 lbs. while 8 ft beds hoist up to 7,500 lbs. Short beds feature one cylinder scissor lift action. 8 foot beds use a twin lifting cylinder with a scissor lift. Dump beds lift to 47 degrees. A heavy gauge steel frame and bed make the Meyer dump insert a good decision.
